Obituary

Davian Miles Garcia Martinez, 19, passed away on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at Methodist Children's Hospital in San Antonio after a courageous battle.

There will be a prayer service held from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 at First Assembly of God Church in Plainview. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Davian was born in Plainview on May 26, 1997, to Isaias Jr. and Angelica Maria Garcia-Martinez. He attended Highland Elementary and Lakeside Middle School. He then attended Eisenhower Middle School and Churchill High School, in San Antonio. He returned his senior year to graduate from Plainview High School in May 2016.

Davian had an amazing ability to touch people with his infectious smile and incessant optimism. He loved making people laugh and captivated them with his radiant personality. He loved to play pranks on others; his sense of humor was contagious. Davian accepted Christ when he was 5 years old. His passion was cooking and learning about the world around him. Most of all, he loved to listen to Adele. He was a fan way before she was a household name. He loved her voice and her music. His dream was to see her in concert. His dream came true in November of 2016.

Davian was preceded in death by his mother, Angelica.

Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Isaias Martinez Jr.; his brothers, Ryan Cole Martinez and Zack Martinez; his grandparents, Isaias and Rosa Martinez; Manuel Garcia, and Elena Saenz. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.
