Dane Andrew Nichols, 46 of Petersburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at his residence. No services will be held at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Dane was born on December 7, 1978, in Floydada, Texas to Curtis Ray and Betty Sue (Bartley) Nichols. He graduated from Floydada High School in 1996. He was the manager of Allsup's convenience store in Abernathy.

Dane enjoyed working on vehicles, especially lowrider cars and trucks. He also enjoyed small engine repair, building and construction, playing lotto and fishing.

Dane is survived by eight brothers, Nathan and Lukretia Nichols, Jimmy and Melissa Nichols, Roger and Linda Nichols, Johnny Nichols and fiancé Julia, Jason Nichols, Roy and MiYeon Nichols, Brian Nichols, and Scott Nichols; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Ray, and Betty Sue (Bartley) Nichols; one brother, David Nichols; and two sisters, Donna Thompson and Anita Pritchett.
