Cynthia Diane Woods transitioned from this life on September 9, 2023.

"Cindy," "Aunt Cindy," or "Sister Cindy" as she was affectionately known, was born on December 12, 1957, to Henry and Alberta Nails in Plainview, Texas. Her early, formal education was at Booker T. Washington, and she later attended Plainview High School.

In 1973, Cynthia married her first love, Larry Woods of Paris, Texas. To that union were born four children. After her first husband's passing, life went on and she met and married Ronnie Dale Ray in 2005.

She was employed with Wal-Mart in Amarillo, Texas for many years. Wal-Mart benefited from her reach and ability to love and nurture. She was a fun-loving, high-energy, high-spirited, "game-cheating", "noise-talking" Woman of God. She was known for her creativity in event planning and decor. Her love language was handing out cards and gifts, which always seemed to come at the right time. She was a woman of virtue, and wisdom and one who knew exactly how to nurture the wounded soul back to spiritual health. She was known to keep lotion and a comb in her purse and would politely and discreetly rub lotion on Larry's hands and comb his hair for him, whenever he showed up late to church from work.

Her home was a revolving door to those in need. You might enter through that door hurt, hungry, and depleted but you were guaranteed to leave healed, full, and restored. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. It would always become a party when they were together. Each time they came to visit, she would take them on a fast drive down Van Burne under the bridge and over the dip. It was like a roller coaster ride and everyone in the car would bump their heads on the roof of the car.

No one could forget the pivotal and impactful moment when Sis Cindy was driving down the street and saw a young man whom she had recently ministered to and had been mentoring. He was engaged in an argument and was pointing a gun at someone. She immediately went and stood between the gun and the person the gun was pointed at. She persuaded the young man not to shoot. Her gentle and loving persuasion was successful. She was God's angel on earth.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Alberta Nails; her husband Larry, daughter, Gloria; sons: Wyman and James; grandson, Jordan; four brothers: Henry Jr, Zerbert, Kenneth, and Charles; three sisters: Della Mae, Arlene, and Allene; and one sister-in-law Kay Woods.

She leaves to mourn her homegoing her husband, Ronnie Dale Ray, sons: Chris Woods (Renisha) of Arlington, Texas and Larry Woods of DFW area; daughter, Pam Ervine of Denton, Texas; her mother-in-law, Jessie Mae; eight grandchildren: Patrick, Demarco, Quaze, Tiaree, Azurae, Cydney, Porter, and Rachelle; ten great-grandchildren, two sisters: Della Fay, and Shirley; two brothers: Michael and Leonard; seven brother-in-law's: Willie Fred, Freddie Joe, Jimmie Ray, Jackie Ray, JD and James Woods; two sister-in-law's: Vera and Alice Faye.

In the words of Cindy Woods and her favorite songs: "I'm Still Holding On" and "Everything Is Going to Be Alright."
