Cleora June Hogsett, age 83, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in Plainview. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

June was born in Major County of Oklahoma on December 16, 1942, to Jack Harkaway Plummer and Leora Ellen Plummer (nee Hedrick). She never liked being called Cleora, so everyone knew her by June. Her parents divorced and she spent time between her mother’s home in Cactus, Texas, and her dad and stepmother’s home in Woodward, Oklahoma. She graduated from Woodward High School in 1961. She married Tony Dodd not too long after, and they had one daughter, Robin. After divorcing, June married Robert Hogsett, and they set up the family home in Drummond, OK.

June loved babies and little kids, and she had a lot of patience, so she babysat in her home for many years. She loved the kids she kept like they were her own. On February 2nd of 1980, she and Bob welcomed Richard Lee and Mary Jane into their home on what would affectionately be known as “Ground Hogsett Day” for the family. June attended OT Autry Tech and Redlands Community College studying business after her kids were mostly grown. She worked as a pharmacy tech for Wal Mart in El Reno and Enid.

June was always the peacemaker in the family, and she was a buddy. She loved to go, and she loved her family. Her grandkids could do no wrong on her watch. She loved to laugh, and she had the nice version of what was known as “the Plummer wit.”

Failing health caused her to move to Plainview, Texas, where family could be close by.

June is survived by her daughters, Robin (Kevin) Sweeney of Plainview, Mary (Brian) Hicks of Haysville, Kansas; two brothers, Pat Plummer of Okarche, Oklahoma, and Dean Hartzell of Colorado; two sisters, Jackie Sue (Jeff) Wilson, and JoAnn (Galen) McCune of Woodward, Texas; five grandsons, Duncan Sweeney, Tyler Hogsett, Jake Vandersterren, Austin Hogsett, and Keith Kokes, two granddaughters, Mia Hogsett and Morgan Sweeney, seven great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her son, Richard (Rick), her parents, Jack Plummer, Jewel Plummer, and Leora Weinmeister, and four brothers, Frank Plummer, Bill Plummer, Melvin Hartzell, and Lee Hartzell.
