Clarence Hickman, Jr., 84 of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in Lockney, Texas. A visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm, at Lemons Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 2:00pm, on Friday, April 3, 2026, in Afton Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.
Clarence was born on June 6, 1941, in Matador, Texas to Clarence Andrew Hickman, Sr. and Opal Vera (Hicks) Hickman.
Throughout his life, Clarence found joy in a variety of hobbies that reflected his interests and personality. He dedicated time to saving cans, working in the yard, and feeding the birds. Fishing and deer hunting were some of his favorite outdoor activities. When indoors, Clarence often watched western TV shows and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. These hobbies not only brought him happiness but also enriched the lives of those around him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Opal Hickman, and one sister, Alma Jewel Baccus.
Clarence will be remembered for saying "can't take it with you" by those he is survived by, one brother, Bobby Hickman of Plainview, and two sisters, Alline Spivey of Comanche, Texas, and Shirley Ann Thomas of Fort Worth, Texas.
