Christobal J. Chapa, 75 of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at his residence. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00am, Monday, April 29, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery. Visitation will be at 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00pm, Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral services are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Christobal was born on September 8, 1948, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Cristobal & Esperanza (Jimenez) Chapa. He married Flora Amador on December 29, 1969, in Plainview, Texas.

Christobal was a musician in his younger years and was a drummer for the Silver Notes Band in Chicago and had also played with David Perez. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and cooking, especially tripas. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

He is survived by his wife, Flora Chapa of Amarillo; one son, Chris and Cheri Chapa of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Brittany Chapa, Blake and Stasha King, and Sarah King; eight great grandchildren, Urijah Chapa, Sofia Chapa, Julian Contreras, Eli Lane, Gemma Alexis, Emmalynn Josie, Lynnlee Alise May, and Blakelynn Reese; six brothers, Ruben and Bonnie Chapa, Beto and Maria Chapa, Mike and Olga Chapa, George and Mary Chapa, Tony and Thelma Chapa, and Jeff Chapa and Becky Lane; one sister, Olga and Pete Sarabia; and many nieces and nephews that he loved very much.

He is preceded in death by his son, Joey Chapa; two brothers, Albert Chapa, and Alfredo Chapa; and two sisters, Virginia Villarreal, and Viola Esquivel.
