Charlie Dunham Atkins, Jr., 82 of Plainview, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Graveside services for Mr. Atkins will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Plainview Cemetery with Dr. Jacob West of First Baptist Church Plainview officiating. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Charlie was born October 29, 1939, in Plainview, Texas to Charlie Dunham Atkins, Sr. and Melba Park Atkins. He attended schools in Plainview and graduated from WT in Canyon, Texas with a degree in business.  He served in the United States Army and then worked for the State of Texas-HR until he retired. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainview.

Charlie loved horses. He enjoyed raising and taking care of them. His primary concern were his parents. Charlie took great care of them until they both passed away.

Charlie is survived by his brother, Jim and his wife Donna Atkins of Fort Worth, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Melba Atkins, two sisters, Peggy Atkins McWharter and Dorothy Atkins Hall.
