The family will receive visitors on Sunday, September 20 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at Lemons Funeral Home, 206 W. 8th St. in Plainview, TX. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Plainview Memorial Park with Danny Andrews officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home.

Charles was born on July 1, 1933 in DeQueen Arkansas to Henry and Callie (Wilson) Westbrook. He married Dorothy Chennault on April 1, 1953. Charles proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After his military career, he enjoyed a career as a paint contractor.

Charlie, as he was better known, spent much of his spare time with athletic activities. He spent a few years in multiple bowling leagues at Plainview Lanes. He was an avid competitor and won several league titles. When his sons became old enough to compete in little league baseball, Charlie coached them during the summer. The ball games were always a family activity. When the boys finished school, the family played slow pitch softball together. They traveled to nearby communities for tournaments almost every weekend.

During the winter, Charlie watched football. His favorite teams were the Arkansas Razorbacks and Dallas Cowboys. Every fall he was optimistic that "this is the Cowboys' year to win another Super Bowl." Many family vacations were spent in the Colorado Springs area, a favorite spot.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Charles is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy also of Sun City; 2 daughters, Debi Washburn and husband Tim of Portland, OR and Donna Ramos and husband Alfred of Plainview, TX; 2 sons, Steve Westbrook and wife Tonya of Lubbock, TX and Bill Westbrook and wife Raschelle of Plainview, TX; 4 granddaughters; 7 grandsons; 3 great granddaughters and 7 great grandsons.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
