Plainview - Celia Zapata, age 93, passed away on April 29, 2023 in Plainview. Funeral services for Mrs. Zapata will be held jointly with her son, Nino Zapata at Templo Sinai in Plainview.  The family will have visitation on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 4-6:00PM, followed by a Prayer Service from 6-8:00PM at Templo Sinai in Plainview.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Templo Sinai. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.  Services under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Celia was born on October 6, 1929, to Estanislado and Paula Garza in Orange Grove, Texas. She married Saturnino Zapata on March 12, 1955. Celia enjoyed sewing, singing, cooking, and spending time with her family. Most importantly, she loved going to church and praying to God.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Saturnino Zapata Sr. of Plainview, Texas; one son, Sammy and wife Dee Zapata of Plainview, Texas; and one daughter Norma Zapata of Plainview, Texas; thirteen grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren; three brothers: Saragoza Garza of Corpus Christi, Texas, Nestor Garza of Robstown, Texas and Carlos Garza of Corpus Christi, Texas; three sisters, Valentina Vela of Pearsall, Texas, Elena Garza of Robstown, Texas and Anestacia Jerrell of Fort Worth, Texas.

Celia is preceded in death by her parents, Estanislado and Paula Garza; two sons, Saul, and Nino Zapata; and one daughter, Leticia Pena.
