Carolyn Mitchell, 59, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM, Monday, February 21, 2022, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Carolyn "Nina" Mitchell was born to Manuel Mitchell and Manuela "Millie" (Baca) Mitchell on April 4, 1962, in Plainview, Texas. Nina enjoyed reading puzzles, playing bingo, and riding her Harley Davidson.

Nina is survived by her mother, Millie Mitchell of Plainview; her lifelong companion, Rudolpho "Rudy" Rivera of Plainview; her fur baby, Machete; two sons: Jacob Mitchell of Plainview and Gabriel Flores of Las Vegas; two daughters: Roxanne Flores of Lubbock and Christina Flores (Brandon Oursbourn) of Colorado; three brothers: Ruben (Bonnie) Mitchell of Fritch, Danny Mitchell of Yuma, AZ, Robert (Anna) Mitchell of Denton; one sister, Kathy Ponciano (Jesse) of Plainview; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Nina is preceded in death by her father, Manuel Mitchell; her grandmother, Ophelia Sanchez; two brothers: David and Richard Cerda; two nephews: Isaiah Lee and Martin Hernandez.
