Carol "Mama Moo" Peña, 80 of Plainview, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023, in Lubbock. Family will host a visitation for Mrs. Peña beginning at 2:00pm until 6:00pm, followed by a Holy Rosary that will be recited at 6:00pm on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be at 3:00pm, Friday, September 15, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home.

Carol was born on December 7, 1942, in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico to Ismael Torres and Audela Chavez. Mrs. Peña married Perfecto Bernal Peña on September 26, 1959, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Mr. Peña passed away on July 21, 2009. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview.

Carol, also known as "Mama Moo", liked spending time playing bingo, dominoes and going to casinos. She also enjoyed cooking, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Perfecto Peña; her parents, Audela and Eloy Estrada; her biological father, Ismael Torres; three sisters and four brothers.

Carol is survived by her five sons: Eloy Peña of Plainview, Donnie Peña (Velma Vaquera) of Plainview, Ronnie Peña (Christina Peña) of Amarillo, Angel Peña (Yvonne Peña) of Plainview, and Marty Peña (Christina Peña) also of Plainview; and one daughter, Inga Pizaña (Paulin Pizaña) of Plainview; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
