Carlos Amador, 63 of Kress, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview with Father Jeremy Trull officiating. Interment will follow in Kress Cemetery. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00pm, Monday, January 31, 2022, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.
Carlos was born on January 25, 1959, in Tulia to Simon and Alicia (Jasso) Amador. He graduated from Kress High School in 1978. Soon after in July he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Janie Hinojosa. Carlos enjoyed football, in his younger years he was a football player and as he grew older, loved to watch his children and grandchildren play different sports. He was a hard-working man and provider, who kept himself busy and liked to work. During his lifetime he was a mechanic, worked on the farm, with his last job being at Attebury Grain as a maintenance operator for the past 20 years. He would tell jokes and like to make others laugh and had also started to enjoy gardening. He had a big heart and was always willing to help anyone. Being a family man, is one of the many great things Carlos will be remembered for. He will be forever loved and deeply missed by those who are left to cherish his memory.
Carlos is survived by his wife: Janie Amador of Kress; his mother: Alicia Amador of Kress; three sons: David C. Amador and Derek (Kristi) Amador all of Plainview and Darren (Annisa) Amador of Kress; three daughters: DeeAnn Amador of Houston, Debbie (Gabriel) Vasquez of Amarillo, and DeLisa Amador (Layton) Castillo of Odessa; two brothers; Henry (Mary) Amador and David (Tiffany) Amador of Plainview; three sisters: Susana (Felix) Rodriguez of Hale Center, Diana (Jesse Jr.) Munoz of Kress, and Ofelia (Vidal) Rodriguez of Columbus, Georgia; 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father: Simon Amador, and a sister Esperanza Amador.
