It is with heartfelt sorrow and deep love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Bonita Ellen Glover Smith, at the age of 93. She peacefully left this world on February 25, 2025, in Searcy, Arkansas, after a brief illness and battle with pneumonia, and was lovingly received into the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Bonita was born on September 22, 1931, in Amarillo, Texas, and was a lifelong source of warmth and joy to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, Melvin Foster Smith, who passed in 1983, as well as by her parents and four brothers. Bonita's memory lives on through her children, Ronald Devon Smith (wife, Connie) and Rhonda Kay Williams (husband, Steve), who carry on her legacy of love and care.

She was the proud grandmother of many, including Terry and Nicole Vick, Coty and Laura Vick, Kevin and Jennifer Williams, Greg and Alicia Smith, Aaron and Amy Smith, Jamey and Kristi Sorsby, Rory and Patti Sanders, and Adam Smith and Barbara McLamb, and cherished the joy of eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Bonita is also survived by her sisters, Floy Epperson, Mary Lee Fox, Betty Falkenberg, and Peg McCraw, who held her in their hearts throughout her life.

Known for her kind and nurturing spirit, Bonita will be fondly remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her infectious sense of humor, and the joy that radiated from her smile. Her heartwarming stories of her childhood, her delight in watching game shows, her quiet hours spent piecing together jigsaw puzzles, and her legendary holiday fruitcakes will forever remain treasured memories for those who were blessed to know her.

Graveside services for Mrs. Smith will be at 1:30pm, Thursday, March 6, 2025, in Plainview Memorial Park. Graveside services are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.
