Obituary
Bertha Jewell Loafman, 96, of Plainview passed away on April 2, 2015 at her residence, with her family at her side.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Garland Street Church of Christ in Plainview with Kim Hays officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview.
Jewell was born July 4, 1918 in Brashear, Texas to James F. Baxter and Vera Mae "Morris" Baxter. She married Raymond Roy Loafman on November 15, 1993 and together they raised four children. Jewell was a homemaker and enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ.
Jewell was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Loafman and wife Margaret of Levelland and Roy Loafman and wife Sondra of Plainview; two daughters, Betty Cochran and husband Mar of Pampa and JoAnn Perry and husband Roger of Brownsboro, Texas; two brothers, Elton Ray Baxter and Max Baxter; three sisters, Lola Hickman, Pansy Yankey and Mary Jo Beck; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Volunteer Services Council for
Lubbock State Supported Living Center, PO Box 5396, Lubbock, Texas 79405.
