Misa Funebre se celebrará el miercoles, 20 de abril, 2016 en la Iglesia Catolica, Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Se recitará el Rosario el martes a las 6:00 p.m. en la Capilla Memorial Lemons. Los arreglos están bajo el cargo de la Funeraria Lemons.

Belia nació el dia 28 de mayo, 1946 en Zacatecas, Mexico a Juan y Consuelo (Castañon) Cordero. Ella ha vivido en el area de Plainview por mas de 18 años. Ella se casó con Mauricio Ortiz hace 29 años.

Belia era una mujer humilde que tenia gran cuidado de su familia. Ella amaba a su familia profundamente y se gozaba en cocinar por ellos. Su actividad favorita era tener parrilladas para que toda la familia se juntara. Era una buena jardinera y costurera. Belia adoraba a sus nietos y amaba pasar tiempo con ellos.

Le precedieron en muerte sus padres, dos hermanos y dos hermanas.

Los sobrevivientes incluyen su esposo, Mauricio Ortiz del hogar; un hijo, Pablo Cano y su esposa Maria, de Juarez, Mexico; seis hijas, Rosa Consuelo Esquivel de Amarillo, Rosa Isela Chavarria y su esposo Guillermo de Plainview, Maribel Cano y su esposo Rosendo de la Cuidad de Mexico, Mayra Ortiz y su esposo Miguel, Monica Ortiz y su esposo Jose y Marisol Ortiz, todos de Plainview; dos hermanos, Casiano Cordero y Gilberto Codero y dos hermanas Carla Cordero y Bertha Rivera. Tambien le sobreviven 12 nietos y 5 bisnietos.

Belia Ortiz, 69, of Plainview, passed away on Monday April 18, 2016.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home.

Belia was born on May 28, 1946 in Zacatecas, Mexico to Juan and Consuelo (Castañon) Cordero. She has lived in the Plainview area for over 18 years. She married Mauricio Ortiz 29 years ago.

Belia was a humble woman who took great care of her family. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed cooking for them. Her favorite thing to do was having cookouts so that they could all gather together. She was an avid gardener and seamstress. Belia adored her grandchildren and cherished spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Mauricio Ortiz of the home; one son, Pablo Cano and wife Maria of Juarez, Mexico; six daughters, Rosa Consuelo Esquivel of Amarillo, Rosa Isela Chavarria and husband Guillermo of Plainview, Maribel Cano and husband Rosendo of Mexico City, Mayra Ortiz and husband Miguel, Monica Ortiz and husband Jose and Marisol Ortiz, all of Plainview; two brothers, Casiano Cordero and Gilberto Cordero; two sisters, Carla Cordero and Bertha Rivera. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
