Beda Diamantina Morales was born February 28, 1936 in Laredo, Texas, to Josefa (Botello) and Victor Pena, both of Laredo, and attended school in the Laredo area. When she was 16, she and Benito Morales were married on April 3, 1952 in Laredo. They moved and resided in several Texas towns until arriving to the Plainview area. Beda was a homemaker until her children went their ways. It was then she took the opportunity to seek employment at Plains Convalescent Center doing what she loved most, which was cooking. As head cook, her warm and cheery disposition were much appreciated by her co-workers for many years. Upon retiring, she dedicated herself to help raise her grandchildren, who lovingly adored her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Beda was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Beda is survived by her loving husband of over 61 years, Benito Morales, of Plainview; children: Beda W. Prince and her husband, Charles, of Atlanta; Ben Morales Jr., of Plainview; Rosa H. Rodriguez and her husband, Jose Luis, of Sterling, IL.; Edward Morales and his wife, Cecilia, of Brush, CO.; JoAnn Jimenez and her husband, Joe, of San Angelo; and Dora Villarreal and her husband, Lupe, of Lubbock; grandchildren: Carlos, Wilfreido, Gabriela, Ysolda, Sabrina, Libby, Albert Morales Jr., Monica, Katherine, Megan, and Stormie. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Nikhari, Dominic, Sierra, Jaime, Cameron, Dalton, Alyanna, Jeremiah, Nevaeh, Gabriela, Abigail, Khloe, and Seth; two brothers: Ramon Pena and Lauro Pena; and one sister, Elida Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Albert Morales; a grandson, Joe Jimenez Jr.; three brothers, and two sisters.
