Plainview-Barbara Joan Nix, 81, of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Plainview, Texas. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview, with Pastor Don Robertson officiating. Graveside services will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Delhi Baptist Church Cemetery. Funeral service arrangements are under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Nix was born on October 31, 1932 in Austin, TX to the late Jack Henry and Beulah (Carlton) Crippen. She married Orval Eugene Nix on June 26, 1954 in Corpus Christi, TX. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1999. She spent her life working as a clinical chemist, but most of all she loved walking her dog Honey. Mrs. Nix was a member of College Heights Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, and one sister Carlene Godsey. Survivors include one son Mark and wife Mimi Nix of Smithville, TX, and one daughter, Carla Jean Nix of Corpus Christi, TX.
