Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church, 10503 Westheimer Rd., Houston Texas 77042.

Art was born on July 14, 1949 in Raymondville, Texas to Isabel and Martina (Gonzales) Alanis. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and enjoyed a career as a machinist.

Art loved spending time with his family, fishing, hunting and riding his horse. He especially loved dancing and going to the movies with his love, Ruby. He was an avid fan of the Houston Texans and he and Ruby attended as many games as possible.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include two daughters, Alicia Hernandez and Veronica Henderson, both of Cypress; his love, Ruby Jones of Houston; grandchildren, Isabella, Makayla, Evan and Ayden; siblings, Gracie, Ruben, Isabel and Nelly. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
