Abbie Gail Blain Blackerby 83, of Kress, has succeeded in life and will now join Winfred F. Blackerby, her husband of 58 years in heaven as of Sunday, September 10th, 2017.

She was born on February 15th, 1934 in Paducah Texas to Katie Noble Leathers Blain and Robert Oakley Blain. She married her high school sweetheart, Winfred, on December 30th 1950. He preceded her in death in 2008.

Our beautiful matriarch leaves a legacy behind of four children; Erwin of Plainview, Vinson and wife Janice of Canyon, Teresa of Kress, Jody of Kress and their families. Grandchildren include Cal, who preceded her in death, Candace, Roy, Trevor, Katie, Matt, Seth, Crystal, Jana, and Mica. Great-grandchildren are Brittany, Zaiden, Shawn, Kayla, Averi, Matthew, McKinzie, Shane, Charlee, Isaiah, Brooklyn, Abigail, Graciela, Aubree and Kade.

Abbie Gail's friendly persona was appreciated at Sears, Gebos, Shoppers Mart and Kress Dry Cleaners that she managed. She worked as a teller for Kress National Bank for 21 years until her retirement. Abbie Gail enjoyed gardening, cooking, ceramics & spoiling kids. She resided most of her life at the Blackerby Family Farm bringing friends & family together with the best home cooking ever!

The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Lemons Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017 in the Lemons Memorial Chapel.  Interment will follow at Kress Cemetery.
